United in Confidence: The Story Behind Plum's Salute Collection

There’s something about a big sports moment that reaches far beyond the competition itself.

As excitement around the World Cup began building, the Plum design team noticed something happening beyond the field.

Soccer jerseys were everywhere.

They weren’t just uniforms anymore. They had become part of fashion, worn for what they represented: pride, belonging, energy, and a connection to something bigger.

That idea stuck with us.

From the Pitch to the Gym

When the Plum design team began developing our Fall 2026 practice wear collection, the goal wasn’t to design soccer jerseys for gymnasts. It was to capture what made them so exciting in the first place.

Bold graphics. Athletic lines. Unexpected color combinations. The unmistakable energy of sport.

Then we made it Plum.

“We loved the energy surrounding the World Cup, and especially seeing how the soccer jersey had moved beyond the field and into fashion. We weren’t trying to recreate a jersey. We wanted to capture that same sense of energy, movement and identity, then interpret it through Plum and through gymnastics.”

The result is The Salute Collection, 10 new practice-wear styles inspired by sport, movement, and the athletes who make both their own.

As the designs came together, a bigger story began to take shape.

Gymnasts may compete individually, but no gymnast does it alone.

There’s the athlete doing the work.

The coaches, teammates, and families standing beside her.

And the love of the sport that keeps bringing her back to the gym.

Those ideas became the three pillars of The Salute Collection:

SALUTE is for the work. The practices no one sees. The skills she keeps chasing. The confidence she builds one rep at a time.

TEAM is for the people in her corner. The coach who says, “One more time.” The teammate cheering from across the gym. The people who keep showing up.

PASSION is what brings her back. Because she doesn’t just do gymnastics. She loves it.

At Plum, we believe confidence is personal.

It isn’t something we can put into a leotard and hand to an athlete. She builds it herself, through the work she does, the chances she takes, the skills she learns and even the ones she doesn’t land the first time.

Our job is to make something she feels great wearing while she does it.
